alice's adventures in wonderland, commonly known as alice in wonderland is a novel by lewis carroll published in 1865. it is one of the best novel's from victorian literature and it's legacy as spawned numerous adaptations for movies, tv shows, musicals, theme parts, video games and more. it is my favourite book and one of my earliest obsessions. i hope you enjoy this shrine dedicated to it! the novel details the story of alice who falls through a rabbit hole into a fantasy world of anthropomorphic creatures. it is seen as an example of literary nonsense. alice was named after alice liddell a girl carroll knew. and though there are many debats about the relationship between liddell and carroll, this shrine is about the fictional character and not the real alice or the author. sometimes in the 1930's walt disney tried to adopt alice into a feature film but plans were scrapped in favour of snow white. after the success of snow white, disney attempted to make alice into a live-action film but during production, disney decided to go ahaead with the animated version instead. and thus the 1951 disney's alice in wonderland was released. it has been named one of disney's best animated films today and possibly the most popular other than the novel itself.

disney's alice is often seen along with the mad hatter, queen of hearts and tweedledee and tweedledum at various disney parks. the famous mad tea party teacup ride is featured at all five disney parks. in paris, there is a hedge maze called alice's curious labyrinth which also takes inspiration of the film.

in 2010, tim burton directed his own live-action adaptation of alice in wonderland that was also produced by walt disney pictures. though this one is less popular than the animation and is not featured at any parks. though it did spawn a less successful sequel alice through the looking glass.

there are many alice statues scattered around the world for fans to visit. the most popular being the large bronze statue of alice in central park in new york. in llandudno, wales there are several statues to see such as alice herself, the queen of hearts, the mad hatter and the cheshire cat. (i have seen them personally!). in warrington, england there is a statue showing the mad hatter's tea party at the golden square shopping centre. it features benches for people to sit with alice. (i have also seen this one). a place i would like to visit is guildford, england where there are many alice statues to see.
one of my favourite alice games has to be alice: madness returns, it's a lot darker than other alice adaptations but i loved the artstyle! plus the different outfits for each stage/level! it is the sequel to american mcgee's alice and there was going to be a third installment but it fell through unfortunately.

well, that's all for now. i will defintely keep this updated when i can! as of 2023 there is an alice in wonderland musical in production for netflix that will star my fave girl sabrina carpenter so hopefully that gets made! thank you for reading!
